The Front Room is the community exhibition gallery inside The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, Canterbury's museum, art gallery and library on the city's High Street. Hirers take exclusive use of the gallery, which offers roughly 8m by 7.5m of display area, and the operator states the space averages around 10,000 visitors across an eight-week run. Exhibitors keep all sales and no commission is charged. Applications are open to artists, collectives, community groups and cultural organisations based in Kent, and are assessed in rounds by the Beaney Programming Group. The current published hire fee is £1,500 plus VAT for an eight-week block, with additional weeks at £230 plus VAT.
