Find Space is built and run by a solo founder, so this is a senior, high-ownership role: no layers of sign-off, just you, the founder, and the roadmap. You'll take our Next.js marketplace and shape its frontend architecture, working directly with our founder to decide what gets built and how. You'll be the first engineering hire, with real influence over the stack and the team we build from here.
Responsibilities
- Own the frontend architecture of our Next.js marketplace, from component library to performance budget
- Ship user-facing features end to end, from technical design through to release
- Work directly with our founder to prioritise and scope the roadmap
- Set frontend standards and tooling as the first engineering hire on the team
- Champion accessibility (WCAG) and performance across the product
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with React and TypeScript, including architecture-level decisions
- Comfortable owning a codebase with minimal oversight
- Strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser support
- Excellent communication, you'll be working directly with the founder day to day
Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js App Router
- Experience with Tailwind CSS or a similar design system
- Experience in an early-stage startup or as a founding engineer
- Experience with marketplace or e-commerce products
